Issues with Varilight / SUPLA connection

Hello ,

I am trying to get help here as I have not had much is success with the varilight team.

I purchased a pro smart dimmer which is meant to connect with the SUPLA software. However I’m having trouble doing so. It goes through the process just fine , when confirmed (prior to the naming stage) it all seems ok. When I press next from the print screen attached, it just goes into the Home Screen

- I’ve tried using IPhone 13 Pro and IPhone 14 Pro
- I’m using a 2.4gh internet connection
- the original dimmer is attached
- the bulbs I use attached

It’s controlling 54 watts only.

Can anyone help at all? I really want to make this work.

1. Put the dimmer to configuration mode.
2. Manually connect to the wifi network emitted by the dimmer
3. Go to http://192.168.4.1
4. Upload a screenshot of the configuration page here


What are your WiFi router settings? Can you post a screenshot of your settings here? Encryption type/mac filter settings/firewall settings ?

Pictures attached of point 3

I’m not sure why but the “z” at the end of my wi-fi name is missing from the website I visited whilst it is actually on the SUPLA app (print screen also attached)

I’ve also attached the picture of our router.

Any idea what could be going wrong?

I verified it and indeed the dimmer accepts a name not exceeding 31 characters. You must first shorten the name of the WiFi network on the router.

I’ve been exchanging messages with Varilight (who are then contacting SUPLA) with all this exact information and they couldn’t fix it.

You did it ! Thanks , that seemed to be the issue.
