Thank you pzygmunt - I've PM'd you with the email address.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help, and sorry for getting a bit frustrated...

I'm waiting for a response from Amazon. I wouldn't expect it to happen any time soon.

Any news?

This is getting really frustrating - I have loads of devices connected to Alexa, and although I've had various problems I've never had anything like this that just can't be solved.

I've opened a support ticket with Varilight, the UK supplier, and if it isn't fixed soon I will return it to the wholesaler and try a different switch.

I know that sounds a bit drastic, but I'd expect this switch to last for 20 years and I'm not listening to Alexa say "sorry, Kitchen is not responding" for the rest of my life (if she even lasts that long herself...) :D

Unfortunately, without support from Amazon, there is nothing we can do about this. Varilight will forward the case to us.

I know I said I'd be patient, but it's been 9 months of having these problems now...

Unfortunately not. Sometimes in the logs we find the Amazon server response "Internal server error" and that's it.

But this is happening *every* time. Aren't those the best bugs for fixing, when you get the wrong response every single time?

Genuine question: Is this something you are actively trying to fix, or have you given up on it?

Amazon provides a tool for testing infrastructure. All tests finish with a "Pass" result and the full flow is tested there, including reporting the execution of the command to the Amazon cloud. We are currently trying to reproduce the problem by trial and error and are also trying to find a solution on our own. Amazon has not yet provided us with information that could lead to a solution. Another problem is that Alexa is not supported in Poland and I suspect that is why Amazon's support is limited. In conclusion, we do not give up but finding a solution is difficult.
